Horace Copeland

“A CELEBRATION OF LIFE” Horace Copeland August 2, 1957 – April 5, 2026 Horace Copeland was born on August 2nd, 1957, and lived 68 meaningful and impactful years. His life was a journey marked by both challenges and triumphs, yet through it all, he remained grounded in something unshakable---his deep love for the Lord. Horace was a man of strong faith. He trusted God wholeheartedly, no matter what life looked like. He understood the grace and mercy of God and recognized that it was God's love that sustained him throughout his life. He was a true believer---authentic, honest, and unashamed he did not pretend to be perfect or hide his struggles; Instead, he stood firm in his faith, trusting God every step of the way. He had a genuine love for people and a compassionate heart that touched many lives. Horace was also gifted with his hands. He had a natural talent for building and creating, contributing much of his work to construction, home improvement, and artistic design. His ability to take raw materials and turn them into something beautiful reflected both his skill in his creative vision. Horace was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Betty Jo Copeland, and his two older brothers, Eddie Copeland and Milton Copeland and his nephew Antonio Copeland. He leaves to cherish his memorial his loving children, Marlon Copeland and Quincy Copeland, and his adopted daughter, Latasha “Tasha” Robertson. His grandchildren Tyreek Copeland, Kendarius Copeland, Jamaria Copeland, Amen Copeland, Quincye T. Copeland and Quincy T. Copeland, junior. His grandchildren meant the world to him he's also survived by his devoted father Richard Copeland, at age 93. Horace is further survived by his brothers: Andrew Copeland (Nicole), Fred Copeland (Tracy), William Ezekiel Copeland, and Darrell Copeland (Valerie); Space and his three sisters; Elizabeth ”Liz” Thomas, Genneda “ Gee” Burns (Vincent), and Patricia “Pat” Lewis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Horace Copeland was truly one-of-a-kind. His life story reminds us that faith is not about perfection, but about trust---- trusting God through every season. His legacy will live on drew the lives he touched, the love he shared, and the faith he never let go of. “Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord.”—Matthew 25:23
